About The Role
Senior Planning Officer
 
Fixed term contract until 31/03/2020
 

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and driven Senior Planner on a fixed-term basis within our busy Planning Policy team. You will help support the delivery of the Council’s local plan, which is planning for around 29,000 new homes in the district by 2033. You will take an active part in supporting the wider team and will directly contribute to the delivery of the Vale of Aylesbury Local Plan.

As Aylesbury Vale is planning for substantial levels of growth, this is an exciting team to be working with. You will be able to directly help the local authority plan for this growth, by liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders, both in the public and private sector. You will be able to take complex sets of data and communicate it clearly to a variety of audiences. 

As well as having an excellent understanding of planning policy legislation and best practice, you will be IT proficient and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be comfortable representing AVDC at a senior level and able to offer support and advice to more junior members of the team. You will be able to manage a diverse and varied workload, and be happy working both independently and as part of a team.
