About The Role
Operations Manager (Regulatory Services) 

Aylesbury Vale District Council are looking for a motivated and ambitious Operations Manager.

This role is based in Regulatory Services, but the most important thing is that you are a great people manager who can lead, motivate and inspire a team of experts to achieve high levels of performance. You will be a dedicated and highly capable people manager, looking to work in a forward thinking and challenging Regulatory environment. You will be working in a senior role alongside experienced team managers and other professional staff at all levels. We will also expect you to bring fresh ideas for service delivery and the drive to implement them.

As an experienced and highly skilled manager, you will be comfortable working under pressure to analyse data, processes and performance and implement necessary change. You will provide expert level management support to a large professional team, and be part of the leadership team within Regulatory Services and the wider authority, implementing an ambitious strategic vision.

You will bring a wealth of experience of working on large and complex change and transformation projects, and being able to demonstrate commercially-minded behaviours is as critical to this role as your expertise and knowledge of people and process management. You will ultimately be the champion of the customer experience, helping to shape our service delivery, and be part of a committed and hard working team. 

While experience of working in a Regulatory environment would be an advantage, it is not essential and we would encourage applications from anyone with relevant experience working in a leadership role within a service based legal framework. Experience of operating in a political environment, subject to a high level of scrutiny, would also be an advantage.

On 01 November 2018, it was announced by the government that the five councils in Buckinghamshire will become a single unitary authority in April 2020.  Any changes made to the structure of local authorities in the county may affect council employees in the future.  Therefore, the five councils have agreed to restrict applications to this position to current employees of the five councils for a period of 14 days from 11th July to 25th July. External candidates are welcome to submit their application at any point; however, if a current employee applies during this 14 day period, their application will be assessed prior to the council considering applications from external candidates.
