About The Role

Landscape Architect – Development & Delivery Team

We are looking for a Landscape Architect to join our busy Landscape and Urban Design Team.

With a Degree & Post Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture you will be an enthusiastic team player able to contribute imaginative ideas, whilst also being a problem solver capable of working on your own initiative with the ability to be both flexible in your work management and able to work to tight deadlines.

We are looking for someone with a passion for improving the lives of individuals and communities through the application of their professional landscape skills.

We offer a wide variety of work, ranging from delivering Landscape Architectural services to the Council’s planning department - including providing advice on and negotiating for improvements to development proposals, planning applications, major infrastructure projects (including HS2 & East West Rail) and developing Local Plan policy relating to landscape design, to advising on and delivering landscape schemes in support of the Council’s green spaces team and other departments within the Council.

Computer literacy, including SketchUp or AutoCAD & MS Office skills and the ability to read and understand detailed planning applications & development schemes is essential along with excellent communication skills to ensure that our high standards of customer care are maintained.

On 01 November 2018, it was announced by the government that the five councils in Buckinghamshire will become a single unitary authority in April 2020.  Any changes made to the structure of local authorities in the county may affect council employees in the future.  Therefore, the five councils have agreed to restrict applications to this position to current employees of the five councils for a period of 14 days from 8th July to 22nd July. External candidates are welcome to submit their application at any point; however, if a current employee applies during this fourteen day period, their application will be assessed prior to the council considering applications from external candidates.
