An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Council’s Corporate Property Team. Working with a small yet dynamic team managing the council’s property portfolio, your primary focus will undertaking minor repairs and small maintenance jobs across the council’s estate.

AVDC has a mixed property portfolio and you’ll be competent in undertaking minor repairs in a variety of non-residential premises, including  community centres, offices, public conveniences and more.

Your day will be varied, dealing with jobs including (but not limited to) painting and decorating, flooring – tiling and carpet repairs, fencing repairs, plumbing  and basic electrics and carpentry. You’ll be competent and have enough technical knowledge in undertaking minor repairs and have a sound understanding of good health and safety practices to apply to the role.

The role is busy, and you’ll have to spend some time working on your own, so you’ll need to be self motivated and well organised with the ability to work with minimum supervision.

The successful candidate will have suitable demonstrable experience of working in a previous minor repairs role and already hold, be training for, or be willing to undergo training for technical qualifications. You will also need to hold a valid full driving licence, as you’ll be travelling between council buildings in our company van.
